Mac Miller was a well-known American rapper and record producer. He was born Malcolm James McCormick on January 19, 1992.

In 2007, when he was just fifteen, Miller started his career in Pittsburgh’s hip-hop scene. His groundbreaking mixtapes dubbed K.I.D.S. (2010) and Best Day Ever (2010) were released after he inked a record deal with the independent label Rostrum Records in 2010. The first independently distributed debut album to reach the top of the US Billboard 200 in 1995 was Miller’s first studio album, Blue Slide Park (2011).

Growing up, Miller battled addiction and drug misuse, which was frequently alluded to in his lyrics. Miller, age 26, passed away at his residence on September 7, 2018, following an accidental drug overdose of cocaine, fentanyl, and alcohol.

Miller received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album for Swimming which he released in 2018 after his passing. Under the alias Larry Fisherman, he also worked as a record producer for a number of artists, including himself.
