Stanley Paul Parrish, who served as the head coach at Marshall University and Ball State University from 2009 to 2010 has died at 75 on April 3, 2022.

The Marshall University Athletics confirmed that former Thundering Herd football coach Stan Parrish has painfully kicked the bucket.

Stan Parrish led the first Thundering Herd team to the first winning season in 1984 since the team’s 1970 air disaster.

He was born on September 20, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio.

He graduated from Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio, in 1964 and attended college at Heidelberg College, where played football from 1965 to 1968.

Stan Parrish later acquired his bachelor’s degree in 1969 and started his coaching career at Windham High School in Ohio in the same year after graduating from Heidelberg,

He became the assistant coach of the Bombers and later became the head coach.

In 1974, Stan led the Bombers to their first-ever Ohio high school football playoff berth and joined the staff at Purdue University as a graduate assistant in 1975.

Parrish became head coach at Kansas State after leaving the Herd team. He later took over the Ball State squad in 2008.

Parish was also an assistant coach at Rutgers, Michigan, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
