Sugam Pokharel (Nepali: ???? ??????; born September 20, 1979) is a Nepali singer.He was born in Biratnagar, where he spent his childhood. He remembers listening to the songs of Sanjay Shresha, Deep Shrestha and Harish Mathema which unknowingly influenced him to a singing career. From his earlier life, he developed an interest in music. He even used to sing in his school functions. He used to be praised for his voice which inspired him to be a singer. He initially had no intention to become a singer. Soon after his SLC, he headed to Kathmandu, the capital city, as most students did to find a path for their aims and ideas. Initially having no desire to sing a song as a professional singer or having not any aim to be asinger,later he thought of recording a song and had a wish to record a song. He and His friend Sudin Pokharel popularly known as DA 69 in music world recorded a song named 'ma maya garchu' but they did not release it. They later recorded another song Payera Timilai but it was unsuccessful. Finally at the end of year 2058 B.S he recorded his third song Mero Sansar which was a hit. His song Pheri tyo din was another hit, which captured the no.1 position in the Nepali music. Later on he was able to record more hits.
