A look at Lavagna - The Washington Post

August 2024 ยท 2 minute read

The 8th Street corridor welcomed Lavagna to its family in July.  The beautifully enticing taste of Italy serves all organic fare that is fresh and robust.

In the Barracks Row district, Lavagna offers indoor seating with beautiful dark wood and exposed brick, as well as outdoor dining.

The bar, located upstairs, is very inviting and sets the mood for a great venue for conversation and cocktails.

There are awesome bar specials every Wednesday through Saturday from 4pm to closing, including $5 appetizers and 25 percent off all wines.  Their specialty cocktails are $9 and join the Italian theme.

My favorites are the Gli Angelia-Basil Margarita and the Rosa Bellini. They serve delicious dishes such as polenta with tomato sauce, bruschetta, marinated olives, fried gnocchi and more tasty bites. I had the bruschetta and polenta and was very impressed!

Lavagna will be serving brunch soon, with a $20 bottomless bellini special and bloody bar, every Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  I will update my blog and Twitter account as soon as the details become available.
